Unite Attacks are special attacks that involve multiple characters and some of them will let you hit all enemies at once. Take advantage of this mechanic by bringing specific characters in your party to perform Unite Attacks.
The first two characters you get in the game, Hero and Jowy, have access to the Unite Attack, Buddy Attack. This hits all enemies with a 1x damage multiplier that's especially strong at the early game.
Your characters' weapons can be strengthened at various Blacksmiths found in the game. You cannot switch your characters' weapons so you shouldn't worry about saving your hard-earned Potch to strengthen a different weapon.
We recommend strengthening your characters' weapons periodically, as normal attacks are what you'll be using to deal damage often.
Blacksmith Guide: How to Unlock and Use
After you arrive in Kyaro Town and right before you visit Nanami, you can find a large tree behind Genkaku's Dojo. Interact with it three times to recruit Mukumuku.
Remember to do this before talking to Nanami, since progressing the story might make you lose the opportunity to do so.
How to Recruit Mukumuku and Stats
If you were unable to recruit Mukumuku by any chance, you can still do so later in the game in the Greenhill area in the World Map.
However, we recommend recruiting him early in Kyaro Town instead since the process might need a little bit of luck on your side.
After talking to Nanami in Kyaro Town, you can find three pots inside the dojo. Pick the "medium vase" to net yourself an easy 3000 potch after appraising and selling it.
Make sure to remember collecting it since you won't be able to get it afterwards.

【 North Sparrow Pass 】 |
・Double-Beat Rune (Low) ・Cream Stew (Rare) |
In the North Sparrow Pass, you can farm the "Slasher Rabbit" for a low chance of getting a Double-Beat Rune. This Rune allows the bearer to attack the enemy twice, but takes 2x damage when countered.
There is also a treasure chest containing the Wind Feather Ornament head gear in North Sparrow Pass.
Nanami is a character you can get early game that can equip two Runes once she reaches level 16. You can use her as a healer to support the whole party with the Water Rune and use a Fortune Rune for the second rune slot to make XP grinding much faster.
With Nanami as your support character, you can focus the rest of your party to dealing damage much more comfortably.
How to Recruit Nanami and Stats
The Protection Mist spell from the Water Rune can be used to make challenging encounters like boss fights much easier. This spell increases your teams defenses and ensures you'll survive through hard-hitting attacks.
How to Get Protection Mist Scroll and Effects
Hix and Tengaar can both be recruited once you play through the events in Two River City and complete their special side quest at Lakewest Town Inn. Both of them are reliable party members you can use to help you in the midgame.
Hix and Tengaar Quest Walkthrough
To quickly reach Level 99, bring a Level 35–40 character with a Fortune Orb to L’Renouille Castle.
Fight 6-soldier enemy groups while your main carries the offense, keep the underleveled character alive, and watch the EXP skyrocket after each battle.
