You can change your party by talking to Leona at your base in Suikoden 2 HD Remaster. Learn how to change your party and properly strategize your party formation.
You can change your party as early as you return to the Mercenary Fortress with Jowy. Simply talk to Leona in front of the tavern on the first floor to edit your party and formation.
Leona can be found at the castle's Tavern area once you've successfully defeated Solon Jhee's Army.
How to Recruit Leona and Army Battle Team
You can change your party by going to the Tavern area of the Headquarters and talking to Leona.
Even if your party is not at the base, you might need to change members due to story events. If you know a character will leave your party, you should change their items and equipment before it happens.
A party consists of 6 people: 3 in the front line and 3 in the back line. Always check a character's weapon range and damage resistance when deciding to put them in the front or at the rear.
Range Notation | Range | Explanation |
---|---|---|
S | Short Range | Can only attack in the front line and target enemies in the front line |
M | Medium Range | Can attack in the front line or rear line and target enemies in the front line |
L | Long Range | Can attack in the front line or rear line and target enemies in the front line or the rear line |
In Suikoden, there is a concept of range. A character can only attack enemies in specific positions.
For example, characters with short range weapons need to be placed in the front line, because they will not be able to attack if they are placed in the rear.
Since the front line is more likely to be targeted by enemies, it is recommended to place durable characters there. Conversely, characters who are weak against attacks and have healing abilities should be in the rear line.
