During the first half of the battle, the enemy will be nothing more but a Worm. Fight it like how you fought the Worm that guarded Banner Pass for the first time before you got to Gregminster.
When you defeat the Worm, its skin will molt and turn into the Poison Moth. This is where the real battle begins.
The Poison Moth is a tough enemy to beat, with its preference for AoE Thunder magic, powerful single-target attacks, and, worst of all, a mist that not only damages the party but inflicts Poison as well.
You will be in for one hell of a fight if you don't have that many healers, so make sure you have at least two of them to heal your party and remove any bad status ailments.
The Hero from Suikoden 1, McDohl, will be in your entourage so make sure you put him to good use! Use his Soul Eater Rune and cast spells like Judgement and Black Shadow. Also, don't forget to do the Double Leader Attack with the Hero of Suikoden 2.
If your entire team is wiped out, don't worry; a cutscene will play where both heroes of Suikoden 1 and 2 will use their power to take the Poison Moth out. In fact, if you think you can't beat the Poison Moth and are in a rush, you might want to try getting defeated as fast as possible instead.

During the first half of the battle, focus on using normal attacks. Only use magic when necessary; you will need it for later. When the Worm molts and turns into the Poison Moth, open up with all of your most powerful spells: Judgement, Pale Palace, Explosion, etc. Do Unite Attacks when you can.
