Running away with Nanami leads players to a bad ending in Suikoden 2 HD Remaster. Learn information about the escape with Nanami and the consequences that follow after.
List of Contents
During the events in Tinto City, there will be a scene where Nanami will ask you to stop fighting and run away instead. Choosing "......", then "Yeah I agree... Let's go." will trigger the events of the Escape Route.
If you continue to choose to run away and refuse to come back to the army, you will get the bad ending. There are no credits or epilogue scenes at the end, only a still image as your reward.
There will be several cutscenes involving Sierra and Kahn that you will miss while the protagonist and Nanami are on the run. This is because the story will proceed as if you did not run away.
If you wish to see and experience this part of the story, we highly recommend not running away.
If you trigger the Escape Route and leave Tinto at the start, Ridley will die as a consequence. This is a permanent death and he will not return after this happens, so choose wisely.
All Missables and Points of No Return
If Ridley does die, his son, Boris, will replace him after the events in Tinto. He will take his father's role entirely, down to his label as the "Tengou Star" in the Stone Tablet of Promise.
When this does happen, there will be no impact to collecting the rest of the 108 Stars of Destiny and will not lock you out of the true ending.
