How to Beat Lucia

Boss Strategy
The First Battle Is Very Easy Lucia Has Henchmen in the Second Fight Give Her Everything You’ve Got in the Third Fight

The First Battle Is Very Easy

You will meet and fight Lucia in three separate instances throughout Suikoden 2. The first time you meet her, she will try to ambush the player in the headquarters, but he should be more than capable of taking her down with nothing but normal attacks.

If you have the Hero equipped with a Pale Gate Rune, use Pale Palace and then proceed to use normal attacks to beat her more quickly.

Lucia Has Henchmen in the Second Fight

In the second fight with Lucia in Greenhill Forest, use powerful AoE attacks like Explosion or The Shredding to damage Lucia and take out her henchmen in one fell swoop.

Have characters like Filk and Viktor use their Cross Attack on her specifically, as well as Shin's Spider Rune and the Hero and Nanami's own unite attack to deal heavy damage.

Give Her Everything You’ve Got in the Third Fight

In the third fight, when you run into her at L'Renouille, you can use all of your most powerful spells without worrying about whether or not you'll waste them. Thor Shot, Explosion, Pale Palace, The Shredding - it's all fair game. You will need all the damage output you can get since she has a hefty amount of HP at 6,500.

Right after the battle with Lucia, you can go back to your headquarters and rest, before progressing any further.

Hero	50	Best Runes: Bright Shield Rune, Pale Gate Rune • Have him cast Pale Palace first if he has the Blue Gate Rune, then keep using normal attacks.

This is a relatively easy battle. As long as the Hero is not too under-leveled, he should win without much trouble.

Nanami Front Row	50	Best Runes: Lightning Rune • Preferably give her the Lightning Rune so she can cast Thor Bolt and other powerful spells. • Use the Family Attack with the Hero when you can.
Flik Front Row	50	Best Runes: Lightning Rune, Thunder Rune • The Lightning Rune or Thunder Rune will do him well, since he can also spam Thor Bolt with it. • Do the Cross Attack with Viktor when it becomes available.
Viktor Front Row	50	Best Runes: Double Beat Rune • Use the Double Beat Rune to attack. • Do the Cross Attack with Flik when it's available.
Rina Back Row	50	Best Runes: Lightning Rune, Fire Rune • Rina will be fine using the Lightning or Fire Runes, but the Fire Runes could be a better option. Cast Explosion to deal AoE damage.
Hero Back Row	50	Best Runes: Bright Shield Rune, Pale Gate Rune • Use Pale Palace for AoE damage, then do normal attacks. • Do the Family Attack unite attack with Nanami when it becomes available.
Luc Back Row	50	Best Runes: Cyclone Rune, Earth Rune • Have him cast Earthquake for AoE damage and to do away with Lucia's minions quickly.

In this battle, focus on casting AoE spells like Explosion or Pale Palace, then use Thor Bolt to target Lucia and shave off a good amount of her HP. Don't forget to use unite attacks and set your party up in a way that maximizes them.

Flik Front Row	55 - 60	Best Runes: Thunder Rune • Use Thor Shot for powerful single-target damage. • Do the Cross Attack with Viktor when it's available.
Viktor Front Row	55 - 60	Best Runes: Double Beat Rune • Use the Double Beat Rune to attack. • When the Cross Attack with Flik is available, use that instead.
Valeria Front Row	55 - 60	Best Runes: Falcon Rune • Use the Falcon Rune to attack.
Clive Back Row	55 - 60	Best Runes: N/A • Use his normal attack against Lucia. • If you have any scrolls of powerful spells, you can have him use those as well.
Hero Back Row	55 - 60	Best Runes: Bright Shield Rune, Earth Rune, Water Rune • Have him use the Bright Shield Rune to heal allies when necessary. • You can give him the Earth Rune or the Water Rune depending on whether you need more damage or a healer.
Killey Back Row	55 - 60	Best Runes: Water Rune, Flowing Rune • Use his normal attacks. • If you give him a Water Rune or Flowing Rune, he can also act as a healer. • The Darkness Rune can also be a good alternative to steal HP from Lucia.

Lucia will be by herself, so focus on using powerful single-target spells and attacks like Thor Short and Viktor and Flik's Cross Attack. Lucia gets to attack three times per turn in this battle, so make sure to keep your characters healed up with either the Hero's magic or Water magic.
