The Library is where you can store and read the Old Books you find throughout Suikoden 2 HD Remaster. Read on to learn how to use and unlock the Library, its location, and see a list of all the Old Book locations here!

At Castle Level 2, players can recruit Emilia at the New Leaf Academy in Greenhill. Speak to her and be honest about what you're doing.
In order to unlock the Headquarters Library, players must first recruit Emilia from Greenhill in Chapter 5. Emilia will join the group after the conclusion of the quest line, and the Headquarters Library will open.
The Library is found by going west from the Headquarters entrance, past the tavern and storehouse. It is a large, separate building from the main castle structure.
Once recruited, Emilia and Templeton can be found in the back office.
Castle Headquarters Map and Level Guide
The Headquarters Library houses your army's collection of Old Books collected from across the land. Speak to Emilia to donate any Old Books present in your Party Items inventory.
As you go through Suikoden 2, you will begin picking up Old Books long before the library is opened. Do not sell or discard them!
Instead, place Old Books in your warehouse to free up space, and when Emilia is recruited and the library opened, withdraw them from storage and donate them to Emilia in bulk.
Warehouse Guide: How to Unlock and Use
You can read the Old Books you've obtained by speaking to Emilia. The books cover various topics, including trading prices, rare antiques, the history of Suikoden 1, and hints regarding different aspects of the game, like cooking and plants for the Headquarters Ranch.
