These are the different Unite Magic spells available to cast in Suikoden 2. They have very powerful effects that can turn the tide of battle in the right situation.

How to Cast Unite Magic

Cast Two Compatible Level 4 Rune Spells

In order to activate a Unite Magic combination spell, you need to use two level 4 spells from compatible runes in the same turn.

For example, to cast Blazing Array, you must cast Explosion from a Fire Rune and Thor Shot from a Lightning Rune during the same turn.

This also applies to high-tier runes like the Thunder Rune or Rage Rune, meaning their level 4 spells must also be used to trigger the Unite Magic.

At Least One Character Must Equip Two Compatible Runes

Unite Magic can be triggered by a single character, as long as they can cast level 4 spells and have at least two rune slots available.

Simply equip compatible runes to their rune slots and you will see the appropriate Unite Magic spell in their menu on their turn.

For example, if Luc were to equip a Water Rune in addition to his Wind Rune, he would be able to cast Water Dragon on his turn.

Two Characters Can Cast Unite Magic Spells

Alternatively, two different characters can equip compatible runes and cast Unite Magic on their turn.

For example, if Tengaar equips a Mother Earth Rune and casts Guardian Earth while Mazus equips a Rage Rune and casts Final Flame, Scorched Earth will replace their respective castings.
