Kai can be recruited by talking to him at the Fortress of Garan after securing the headquarters.

Strong Unite Attack With the Hero

Kai pairs well with the Hero for the Master Pupil Unite Attack, which deals double damage to all enemies without having any drawbacks. This move is highly effective for clearing enemies efficiently in the early to mid-game.

Permanently Attached Rune

Kai has the Hazy Rune permanently equipped, and cannot be changed to any other Rune. This makes Kai limited to just his powerful Unite Attack.

However, an advantage of the Hazy Rune is it increases the user's evasion, making Kai an adequate option to put in front of the party for his dodging.

Below Average Stats

Kai has below-average stats in Dexterity, Speed, Magic, and Luck. Although in actual battles, his Unite Attack with the Hero more than makes up for the lower stats early on.
