How to Beat Golden Hydra (Gregminster Palace)

Boss Strategy
Take Out the Left Head First Spam Earthquake on All Heads Heal Using the Flowing Rune Use a Cyclone Rune as Well Max Out All of Your Upgrades

Take Out the Left Head First

The Golden Hydra's left head is the most dangerous one during this fight, not because of its damage, but because it can heal. Focus on bursting it down as soon as possible, with spells like Final Judgement, so that you won't have to worry about it restoring HP.

Spam Earthquake on All Heads

Outside of neutral attacks, like those from the Soul Eater or Falcon Runes, the best attack to spam is Earthquake from a Mother Earth Rune. This is the only one of the five major elements that isn't nullified by all three heads so make sure to spam it every turn.

As a note, the middle head does resist Earth, but it's still worth spamming this attack for full damage against the other two heads.

Heal Using the Flowing Rune

As usual, you'll want to keep your entire party's health bars topped up with the Flowing Rune's AoE heals. You don't want to risk anyone going down, so make sure that you're using a healing spell every turn.

Use a Cyclone Rune as Well

Besides the Mother Earth and Flowing Runes, you'll want to have someone use a Cyclone Rune as well. These can be flexibly used to provide either secondary damage or healing, allowing you to adapt to the current game state.

Do note that the left head is immune to wind. However, it's still worth getting some damage down on the other heads when you can.

Max Out All of Your Upgrades

Since this is the final boss, you'll want to make sure that your party's weapons and armour are fully upgraded to their maximum potential. This is the last fight of the game so don't worry about using up all your money or spending too much time grinding until you're strong.

Flik	Best Rune: Cyclone Rune • Spam the "Storm" spell to continuously damage the right and middle Golden Hydra heads. • Can also act as a secondary healer with his rune's healing magic spells. • Ineffective against the left Golden Hydra head, but you have other characters that can deal with it.
Viktor	Best Rune: Clone Rune • Have him use the Clone Rune to deal devastating attacks • If he gets the "Unbalanced" status ailment, it can be removed by your healers, allowing Viktor to attack again without a 1-turn wait.
Valeria	Best Rune: Falcon Rune • Use the Falcon Rune to attack every turn.
Hero	Best Rune: Soul Eater • Use his "Judgement" spell to deal high damage. • Use the "Black Shadow" spell to damage all three heads at once.
Kirkis	Best Rune: Flowing Rune • Designated healer who is supposed to keep your party alive with the "Rain of Kindness" spell.
Cleo	Best Rune: Earth Rune • Have her use "Earthquake" until it runs out of uses.
