How to Beat Anji, Kanak, and Leonardo (Pirate Fortress)

Beat Them As Fast as Possible Use Area-of-Effect Attacks on Them Use Turtle Runes on Tai Ho and Yam Koo Have Someone Who Can Heal

Beat Them As Fast as Possible

To recruit Anji, Kanak, and Leonardo, you'll need to defeat all three of them within 5 turns. Once the battle is over, they will automatically join the Liberation Army.

If you take more than 5 turns to beat the three pirates, the battle will end and you will have to fight them all over again. If this happens, we recommend getting stronger first by levelling up and upgrading your weapons.

Use Area-of-Effect Attacks on Them

Since you will be fighting all three of them at the same time, AoE attacks will help defeat all of them quickly. Use Runes that can hit multiple enemies, like Hellion's Morther Earth Rune or the Hero's Soul Eater Rune, to take them down before the time limit expires.

Prioritize Leonardo, then Anji, then Kanak

Even if you're utilizing AoE attacks, you'll still want to target down the bosses in the order of least to most HP. For reference, defeat Leonardo first, followed by Anji, then Kanak last.

Use Turtle Runes on Tai Ho and Yam Koo

Since Tai Ho and Yam Koo are required for this battle, you might as well utilize them. Giving them Turtle Runes will prevent them from becoming Unbalanced after using their Unite Attack, allowing them to spam it every turn.

How to Get Turtle Rune and Effects

Have Someone Who Can Heal

If you're unlucky, the three bosses can gang up on one of your characters and potentially defeat them in one round. Because of this, you'll want to make sure that you have a healer ready in case anyone gets low on HP.

It's best to use a Water Rune for this so that you can heal reactively and so that you don't waste any of your healing items.

Best Party for Anji, Kanak, and Leonardo

Character	Best Rune and Role
Hero	Best Rune: Soul Eater • Have him use the "Black Shadow" spell and use normal attacks when it runs out of uses.
Flik	Best Rune: Water Rune • Use him as a healer. If nobody needs healing though, you can make him do normal attacks.
Valeria	Best Rune: Falcon Rune • Have her use her Falcon Rune to deal heavy damage to each of the bosses.
Hellion	Best Rune: Mother Earth Rune • The "Earthquake" spell from her Mother Earth Rune will prove very useful in this fight.
Tai Ho	Best Rune: Killer Rune or Turtle Rune • Use his Unite Attack with Yam Koo to deal good damage.
Yam Koo	Best Rune: Killer Rune or Turtle Rune • You will need him alive so he and Tai Ho can do their Unite Attack.
