Save Spells for the Second Phase Spam Attacks from the Earth Rune Have a Flowing Rune Equipped

Save Spells for the Second Phase

This battle has two parts. The first half has a bunch of crystals floating around the Crystal Core, while the second half has the Crystal Core shrink into a small red orb.

The first phase is manageable since it only does single-target attacks, but its second phase uses AoE attacks instead. You'll want to save your spells for the second part of the battle so that you can burst it down as soon as possible.

Use Mega Medicines for the First Phase

Since you'll want to save your spells for the second half of the fight, you'll want to make sure that you bring Mega Medicines with you. This way you can use those to heal during the first phase instead of using spells.

Spam Attacks from the Earth Rune

The Crystal Core is weak to Earth and Water elemental attacks, so you'll want to utilize offensive spells from the Earth Rune to maximize your damage output. Remember to equip it on someone who has a high Magic stat so that you can spam its Tier 4 spell.

Also, don't forget to save your spell casts for the second phase, especially since Earthquake has a limited number of spell slots.

As a note, you can also use Elemental Rune Pieces on your physical attackers' weapons to give them an elemental attack. However, putting one on is permanent and not recommended since future enemies can resist the element that you put on their weapons.

The Crystal Core's second form uses area-of-attack spells constantly, and the only way your party will stay safe is to heal them with multi-target healing spells from the Flowing Rune.

Flik	Best Rune: Earth Rune • Have him and Cleo spam Earth magic against the boss in its second form.
Milia	Best Rune: Any • Have her do normal attacks, though make sure her weapon has Earth or Water rune pieces embedded in it.
Humphrey	Best Rune: Any • Same as Milia; make sure his weapon has Water or Earth rune pieces
Hero	Best Rune: Soul Eater • Spam the "Black Shadow" spell, then have him do normal attacks once it runs out of uses.
Kirkis	Best Rune: Flowing Rune • Have him act as the dedicated healer; use "Rain of Kindness" during the second phase of the fight so the party survives.
Cleo	Best Rune: Earth Rune • Like Flik, have Cleo use Earth magic against the Crystal Core.
