| Astral Predications | You can obtain the Astral Predications from Leknaat in the Magician's Island. | After obtaining the Astral Predications, give them to Kraze. |
| Blueprints | You can obtain the Blueprints from Odessa in the Liberation Army base in Lenankamp. | As part of the main story, the Blueprints are delivered to the Secret Factory after the party makes it to Sarady with Odessa. |
| Kirinji | You can obtain the Kirinji at the deepest level of Lepant's Mansion. | As part of the main story, you retrieve Kirinji from Lepant's Mansion, then return it to Lepant to recruit him. |
| Running Water Root | You can obtain the Running Water Root at the deepest level of the Dwarves' Vault. | The Running Water Root is retrieved from the Dwarves' Vault as part of the main story, after the Dwarf Chieftain challenges the party to do so. |
| Engine | You can obtain the Engine from Kamandol as part of the story in Teien. | Kamandol gives you the engine to modify a boat to get past the rapids and visit Liukan's Hermitage. |
| Fake Orders | You can obtain the Fake Orders from Kimberly and Tesla as part of the story in Chapter 4. | Kimberly and Tesla create Fake Orders to allow you to infiltrate Soniere Prison as part of the main story. |
| Fire Spear | You can obtain the Fire Spear from a story event in Chapter 5, after visiting the Secret Factory. | Fire Spears enhance the performance of the Charge Attack in War Battles, enabling you to defeat Teo's army. |
| Moonlight Weed | You can obtain the Moonlight Weed in the deepest part of Seek Valley. | Deliver the Moonlight Herb to concoct the antidote in order to save the dragons in the Dragon Knights' Fortress as part of the main story. |
| Earring | You obtain the Earring after a story event in chapter 2. | Odessa Silverberg asks you to bring the earring to Mathiu in Seika Village. |
| Mathiu's Letter | You obtain Mathiu's Letter after a story event in Chapter 4 where he asks you to deliver the letter to Kimberly in Antei. | Mathiu gives you a letter to deliver to Kimberly. |
| Blue Flower Seeds | These seeds can be purchased from the item store in Rikon. | These seeds are needed to recruit Zen from Qlon Temple. Speak to him with all three colors of seed - red, blue, and yellow - in your inventory to recruit him. |
| Red Flower Seeds | These seeds can be purchased from the item store in Warriors' Village. | These seeds are needed to recruit Zen from Qlon Temple. Speak to him with all three colors of seed - red, blue, and yellow - in your inventory to recruit him. |

| Sugar | This item is purchased from the item store in Kirov. | This item is used to trade for a Yardstick during the process of recruiting Sarah. Purchase it from the item store in Kirov. |
| Yardstick | You can obtain the Yardstick by trading Sugar in the barter event to recruit Sarah in Kirov. | Trade Sugar for this item from the man in the Kirov inn bedroom. |
| Salt | You can obtain the Salt by trading the Yardstick in the barter event to recruit Sarah in Kirov. | Trade the Yardstick for this item from the woman in the far southeast corner of Kirov. |
| Soy Sauce | You can obtain the Soy Sauce by trading the Salt in the barter event to recruit Sarah in Kirov. | Trade the Salt for this item from the man walking near the Kirov inn. |
| Soap | You can obtain Soap by trading the Soy Sauce in the barter event to recruit Sarah in Kirov. | Trade the Soy Sauce for this item from the man standing outside the Kirov armor shop, then give it to Sarah to recruit her. |
| War Scroll | The War Scroll is obtained from the Cave of the Past during the main story. | Give it to Hugo in Qlon to recruit him. |
| Nameless Urn | This item is a rare drop from the Holly Fairy enemy in the Scarleticia region. | Give it to Jabba in Rikon to recruit him. |
| Window Rune | The Window Crystal is found in the Cave of the Past during the main story. | Give it to Window in Warriors' Village to recruit him. |
Key items have a very specific use and have no effect outside of the purpose it has. For example, you can't use the Sound Rune anywhere else besides giving it to Melodye to recruit her.
