All Old Books and How to Get Them

Unlock a 9th Book After Obtaining All 8 Books

There's a secret 9th book that can only be unlocked once you have all previous books in your library. This books contains special content, like messages from the developers, and isn't that useful compared to all the other books.

To read it, all you need to do is press the O, △, and ▢ buttons simultaneously while you're in the bookshelf menu.

How to Use Old Books

Recruit Hugo and Talk to Him

To use an Old Book, you'll need to recruit Hugo first and talk to him in your base's library. Once you've done that, it will get used up and you'll unlock a new book to read.

Old Books Contain Useful Information

Whenever you have an Old Book in your inventory, it's best to give it to Hugo right away so he can decipher its contents. The books that are unlocked contain useful content for your adventure, like how to recruit people or the prices of different Antique Items.
