Raise Pahn's Level to 32

The first duel with Teo McDohl has to be fought by Pahn, who may be underleveled if you haven't been using him after he re-joined your party. Make sure before the duel happens, Pahn is at level 32 so that he has a fighting chance.

Upgrade Pahn's Armor and Weapons

The Headgear, Ninja Garb, and two Guard Rings are the best gear you can put on Pahn at this point in the game. If you don't have any spare ones available, you can always buy them in the various armour shops around.

It's also a good idea to have Pahn's weapon upgraded to level 10 since bringing it up to level 12 can be expensive. However, if you do have the Potch for it, you might as well max it out.

Just like the fight with Kwanda, making the right choices in your duel with Teo will let Pahn come out of the battle as the victor. Make sure to read Teo's dialogue so that you know which move to counter him with.

Dueling Tips

Choose the Advantageous Move

Attack	If your enemy is defending himself, this move deals damage. But if you attack while your enemy is doing a desperate attack, you will lose a huge amount of HP.
Defend	If your enemy does a desperate attack, your character will not receive any damage and the attacker will get damaged instead.
Desperate Attack	If you do a desperate attack while your enemy is about to do a normal attack, it will deal a huge amount of damage. If your enemy is defending, however, you will get damaged instead.

Duel battles rely on the duel triangle seen above. Attack beats Defense, Defense beats Desperate Attack, and Desperate Attack beats Attack. Players will win duel battles by predicting your enemy's actions and counteracting them.
