Kwanda Rosman's the first duel you will have in the game, and it's pretty easy to beat him as long as you know what the best counters for his actions are. For example, if his line indicates he's going to defend, select attack.
Duel Guide and All Dialogue Patterns
Before fighting Kwanda, make sure toi heal the Hero since his health will carry over to the duel. Because of this, you'll want to make sure you don't use up all your healing options during the Dragon Boss fight.
Dragon Boss Guide and How to Beat
After defeating Kwanda, a crucial set of dialogue choices will come up. When prompted, select "Something's wrong here." and "I want you to join us." to recruit Kwanda Rosman.
This is a very important decision since choosing any other option will execute him. If this happens, you won't be able to recruit all 108 characters in the game, which will then affect which ending you will get.

| Attack | If your enemy is defending himself, this move deals damage. But if you attack while your enemy does a special attack, you will lose a large amount of HP. |
| Defend | If your enemy is doing a special attack, your character will dodge and counter, dealing high damage. |
| Special Attack | If you do a special attack while your enemy is about to do a normal attack, you will take some damage but deal much more. If your enemy is defending, however, they will dodge and counter, dealing damage to you. |
Duel battles rely on the duel triangle seen above. Attack beats Defense, Defense beats Desperate Attack, and Special Attack beats Attack. Players will win duel battles by predicting your enemy's actions and counteracting them.
