There are different status ailments your party and your enemies can inflict on one another during combat in Suikoden 1 HD Remaster. Learn all the different status ailments, their cures and how to counter status ailments in battle.

Appears as a small demon above victim's head. Damages 1/16 (about 6%) of the afflicted character's HP every turn. |

Paralysis | Appears as stars above victim's head. Character is paralyzed and cannot act for 1 turn. |

The Pointy Hat head armor can defend against the Balloon status effect when worn.
Consider placing it on the head of a powerful character to prevent them from being forcibly removed from combat.
Items like Antitoxins and Needles are good to carry in your item bag in case one of your characters is afflicted with either Poison or Balloon, respectively.
Getting rid of these status ailments as soon as possible during battle ensures that you will control the flow of the battle.
Status ailments depend on a character's accuracy and evasion rate. Raising your character's evesion rate will allow them to successfully dodge status ailment-afflicting moves!
