Find the Sound Rune in Kalekka

Suikoden 1 - Sound Rune Location

The Sound Rune can be found by picking up the Sound Orb inside the ruins of a house in Kalekka, a destroyed town.

You'll first visit there on the way to the Secret Factory in Chapter 5.

Give Melodye the Sound Orb to Recruit Her

Recruit Melodye

The Sound Rune is used for only one thing: Helping realize Melodye's potential as an audio artist. Give the Sound Orb to Melodye in Kirov to recruit her to the Liberation Army.

Melodye Can Change Sound Effects with Sound Sets

Suikoden 1 - Rose Garden

After Melodye joins, she'll set up shop on the rooftop garden in the west wing of the Headquarters.

There you can give her Sound Sets you find in the world to unlock new window sound effects. These change the sound effects used for selecting menu options.
