DOOM: The Dark Ages fans cancel their pre-orders after discovering that the game disc only contains 85 MB, requiring them to download over 80 GB to play it. This news comes after several retailers shipped the game ahead of its actual release date.

In a recent Twitter (X) post, user @DoesItPlay1 discussed the blundered physical release and stated that many fans have decided to cancel their pre-orders because of it. Does It Play is a Twitter (X) account focused on game preservation and reviewing physical editions of games, making sure that recently released titles work without internet requirements. As it stands, DOOM: The Dark Ages needs an internet connection to update the game for it to be playable.

Meanwhile, DOOM: The Dark Ages is holding a campaign where fans can get an exclusive skin when they buy a pizza. In a Twitter (X) post on May 13, Bethesda announced that players can unlock a timed exclusive Ranger DOOM Slayer skin for every purchase of Hellfire Pepperoni pizza or slice from American pizza chain Prince St. Pizza.

According to the post, Prince St. Pizza x DOOM: The Dark Ages’ limited-time menu is live, as the promotion started on May 12 and will run until June 15 across all U.S. locations and in Toronto. Additionally, fans will get a one-month trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for new users only. The pizza box will also feature an exclusive Prince St. Pizza x DOOM: The Dark Ages artwork.
