Donkey Kong Bananza is not out yet, but a dedicated fan has discovered a secret banana alphabet and decoded it. User 2Chrispy uploaded a video on YouTube on April 27 titled "I Decoded the Ancient Monkey Scrolls of Donkey Kong Bananza," detailing his experience while decoding the "Ancient Monkey Scrolls." This secret banana letter system was seen throughout all of the game’s trailers, gameplay footage, and official website.
Having an invented language for a game is not new, as Nintendo also did this with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Hylian. However, discovering the secret language before the game even comes out is unheard of.
This speaks to how dedicated Donkey Kong fans are, or just extremely bored while waiting for more news about the game. Regardless, this secret alphabet has yet to be proven true, but 2Chrispy's deep dive and intricate process push fans to believe that he got the symbols down to a tee.

In the video, he explained how he was able to decipher each letter of the "bananbet," starting with the term "Chip Exchange." When a player collects a Banandium Chip, a pop-up appears: "Trade these for bananas at any Chip Exchange." 2Chrispy went frame-by-frame on the game’s trailers and tried to look for the "Chip Exchange" location, and wondered whether the signage could be his starting point.
As he observed, the symbols in the signage match up with the number of letters in the word "exchange," and the repeating letter "e" goes well with his theory. He applied this process to other symbols he found on the available screenshots and game trailers, using a word finder app to fill in the gaps.
Although these are just theories and speculations for now, the effort of going through the content the game has put out so far is impressive in its own right. Fans are growing restless in anticipation of news about the game, so this may push them to discover more things based on the available trailers and screenshots.
