Elden Ring Nightreign’s Libra boss reveal gameplay video had fans comparing his look to Ben 10’s Grey Matter. Read on to learn more about this uncanny comparison and how devastating the goat-like Nightlord is.
Elden Ring Nightreign Libra Boss Reveal Gameplay
It’s Hero Time?
Elden Ring Nightreign inches closer to its release date, and FromSoftware gave fans a sneak peek at one of its bosses, who oddly seemed familiar with its resemblance to a cartoon character. On May 6, IGN dropped new gameplay footage featuring one of the 8 Nightlords, "Libra, Creature of Night."
In typical FromSoftware fashion, Libra looks to follow its predecessors in difficulty, with devastating attacks and speed. However, aside from its battle prowess, fans have noticed something about how the devastating goat-like Nightlord looks.
According to comments on YouTube, Libra has an uncanny resemblance to Grey Matter, one of the aliens in the hit cartoon TV series Ben 10. The connection was made due to Libra seemingly having Grey Matter’s massive eyes. Funnily enough, those features were not Libra’s eyes but bells hanging in his horns.
This also became a point of discussion on Reddit during the game’s reveal trailer in December 2024, as Libra appeared briefly in the video. Despite the comedic comparison, Libra looks to demolish players in their expeditions when the game launches.
Madness!
The gameplay revealed that Libra is a madness-inducing boss, afflicting players with the Madness Status Effect which results in health and focus points loss while also stunning them. The footage highlights the importance of team coordination as the Creature of the Night features large area-of-effect attacks and unique patterns.
Before the start of the battle, players can make a deal with the Scale-bearing Merchant. He offers great strength, resistance to ailments, or holds death at bay. Players can also refuse to make a deal and head straight to the boss. However, the video does not indicate whether the deal has any drawbacks or costs. After sealing the deal or not, it turns out that the Scale-bearing Merchant itself is Libra, who then sheds its skin and reveals its true form.
As the fight progresses, Libra becomes increasingly dangerous and does more moves from his arsenal. He starts by casting spells as projectiles or summoning AoE sigils around the field. Once players have dealt enough damage, he goes berserk and does immense damage from his melee attacks. Additionally, his madness-based spells become more effective, and his AoE attacks widen.
With its release coming in less than a month, FromSoftware looks to reveal more about the game to tell fans that their new multiplayer approach to Souls games will be nothing they have ever experienced. Recently, they unveiled Nightreign’s overview trailer, which showcased the game’s lore, gameplay, features, and more.
Elden Ring Nightreign is set to be released on May 30, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
