Year of Prophecy Roadmap Revealed at Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate Reveal Event

Destiny 2 continues to bring more content to the long-time free-to-play multiplayer shooter. During the Edge of Fate reveal livestream on May 7, developer Bungie unveiled the Year of Prophecy roadmap featuring upcoming events for the rest of the year.

This year-long set of events will bring changes to the format of their yearly updates. According to the developers, "Starting with the Year of Prophecy, each year will now feature four major content beats: two paid expansions and two major updates available to all."

These updates include new events, Exotic Missions, new gear, rewards, and more. Additionally, this new structure will not require paid access to seasonal activities, making sure that all players will get to experience Destiny 2’s major updates.

The Edge of Fate Launches July 15

To kick things off with the Year of Prophecy, Destiny 2 will have its first expansion of the year with The Edge of Fate launching on July 15. Players will travel to a new location, Kepler, and use never-before-seen abilities with help from new allies.

Additionally, this update will bring new features such as the Portal, "a new activity selection screen that will offer instant access to a range of activities tailored to different playstyles to make it easier than ever for players to find their next adventure."

There will also be changes to the game’s armor and tiering systems, new set bonuses, and a rework of character stats. More information regarding these changes will come in the following weeks, so fans had better stay tuned.

Renegades Coming on December 2

Coming later this year, Bungie revealed that Destiny 2 will have its second expansion with Regenades on December 2. According to the post, Renegades is a collaboration with the legendary franchise Star Wars.

This expansion combines Destiny’s creative storytelling and gameplay with Star Wars’ elements and themes, producing a sci-fi chapter that encapsulates the experience of both.. Moreover, the story and events during this collaboration will be integral to the Fate Saga, introducing new characters, mechanics, and more.

Destiny 2 Year of the Prophecy Pre-Orders Now Open!

Alongside the upcoming events and expansions coming to the game, Bungie also revealed its different game editions focused on the Year of Prophecy. To start, the Edge of Fate pre-orders are now available, which include the following:
