Dune: Awakening is ramping up towards its release date, having multiple events and activities leading to its launch. However, developer Funcom decided to add more time for its development. In a Twitter (X) post on April 15, Funcom announced that Dune: Awakening will move its release date by three more weeks.
The game is initially set to be released on May 20, but will now be released on June 5 for those who purchased the deluxe edition, and on June 10 for the rest globally. Based on their ongoing Persistent Closed Beta, the developers have received substantial feedback, which prompted them to take more time in developing the game.
Funcom wanted to ensure that they would deliver a high-quality game, and they are considering every feedback and comment they get from their beta testers. According to the developers, the extra three weeks will give them "the time needed to make improvements that will lead to a better gameplay experience from day one."
Large-Scale Beta Weekend
Despite the delay for the game’s release, Funcom looks to have something in store for the players for the time being. They announced that there will be a large-scale beta weekend coming next month, allowing more players to try out the game and share their feedback. The developers boast Dune: Awakening as a "beast of a game," being a massive multiplayer survival game with gameplay and other technical elements never before seen in the genre.
