Hades 2 Early Access First Anniversary
Nearing Its Full Release
As written in their latest Twitter (X) post, Hades 2 has been in early access for a year now, since May 6, 2024. Developer Supergiant celebrated the milestone by thanking fans for their support and saying that they are moving closer to the game’s full release.
Their post reads, "It's been incredibly exciting and eye-opening as we've worked to realize the potential so many of you see in our game. Thank you for all your feedback and patience as we get closer to the finish line!"
Its predecessor, Hades, also went through the same process of releasing in early access first, although it took 22 months before its full release. However, Supergiant looks to have Hades 2’s full release sooner than the first game, beginning with its launch time exclusive release on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Launching First on the Nintendo Switch 2
In one of Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice video series, Supergiant revealed that Hades 2 will come first for the Nintendo Switch 2. Given that the Switch 2 will release on June 5, fans can expect Hades 2 to come out around that period at the earliest.
The game made its mark as the sequel to the famed god-like rogue-like fans adored. According to the developers, this will be the first sequel Supergiant Games has made to one of their games, and emphasized that working on sequels required "a great deal of fear and respect."
Hades 2 is now in early access, and is set to first be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch before launching on PC on a later date. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
