Players Discover Game-Breaking Stunlock Exploit
Dune: Awakening Open Beta Weekend is Over
Dune: Awakening just held its open beta weekend, and fans were treated to the first 20-25 hours of the game along with other features. During their Global LAN Party livestream on May 10, players discovered an exploit to stun their opponents in PvP forever.
The "stunlock exploit" happens when a player repeatedly uses quick knife attacks when their enemies have zero stamina. Their target will not be able to do anything to defend themselves, use abilities, or escape, and thus, rendering themselves in a perpetual stagger.
These instances were seen during popular streamers Tyler1 and Shroud’s livestream of the game, which brought significant attention to the issue.
Funcom Promises Fix Before Launch
In the Global LAN Party livestream, developers from Funcom witnessed the stunlock exploit and immediately addressed the bug. Dune: Awakening World Director Jeff Gagné and Lead Producer Ole Andreas Haley promised to fix this issue before the game’s official release.
Gagné said, "We got this covered. It's not like 'Oh my god, we haven't thought about it.' It's already going away." With the open beta weekend now over, the developers have received so much praise and, more importantly, necessary feedback to make the game optimal for its near release.
Dune: Awakening is set to be released on June 10, 2025 for PC, while releases for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will come at an unannounced later date. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
