Character Switching
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will allow you to swing through the busy streets of New York City as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. With both Spider-Men at your fingertips, you can seamlessly swap between them during free-roam, each with unique missions and skills that make their playstyle distinct. Similar to the first game, there will also be segments in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 where players must control Mary Jane and other characters, whose identities are best discovered during your first playthrough.
Combat in Spider-Man 2 builds on its predecessors with enhanced mechanics that will keep you on your toes. You'll have to build combos, dodge attacks, and use your arsenal of gadgets as Peter Parker or Venom attacks as Miles Morales to control the battle. Let's not forget Peter's bond with the Venom symbiote, which gives him the ability to fend off enemies with dark tendrils and new web-based abilities.
Web Wings
The real magic, however, happens when you take to the skies. With their new Web Wings, Peter and Miles can glide gracefully through the city and use wind tunnels to gain speed and cover incredible distances.
The game also has RPG mechanics. As you progress through the game, you'll unlock an array of new abilities through individual Skill Trees. Each Spider-Man gains unique powers as they earn Skill Points.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Story
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will see Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up once again to protect New York City. Picking up almost a year after the events of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the two Spider-Men will have to face off against a dangerous new villain, Kraven the Hunter, who is on a relentless quest to hunt down the city's super-powered individual.
As Peter struggles to balance his personal life and duties as a mentor, Miles is coming into his own as a hero. Together, they tackle old foes like Sandman and the Lizard while a much darker threat looms in the form of Venom, who brings chaos and devastating consequences for the heroes.
As seen in trailers, the game will highlight Peter's connection to the symbiote suit, which enhances his abilities but also threatens to overwhelm him with darker impulses. Meanwhile, Miles takes on greater responsibilities, navigating his own struggles while facing a rising tide of villains.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 expands on the open-world New York City from the previous games, adding new boroughs like Queens and Brooklyn. These areas offer more varied environments, from bustling neighborhoods to quieter residential spaces, all interconnected by the East River. Spontaneous events also keep the city on edge, as Peter and Miles frequently find themselves rescuing civilians and fighting off criminals.
