After the events of Kingdom Hearts 3, Sora awakens in a mysterious realistic world unlike any he’s ever been, separated away from all his friends. Read on to learn how Kingdom Hearts 4 plays and what it’s about!
Kingdom Hearts 4 Gameplay
Kingdom Hearts 4 will continue the action-adventure RPG gameplay of the previous series, where players control Sora as he uses his various keyblades, accessories, and abilities to fight the teeming Heartless that seek to overwhelm various worlds. It is currently unknown what combat or traversal systems Kingdom Hearts 4 will have, but it will most likely iterate over the previous combat system wherein Sora can utilize different forms in combat to alter his playstyle. Flowmotion could also be a mainstay traversal mechanic that will allow him to soar and run across various terrain, as well as be used to transition into combat to take on enemies on the field seamlessly.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Story
Kingdom Hearts 4 seemingly started off where Kingdom Hearts 3 and its Re Mind DLC left off, where Sora sacrifices himself and is whisked away to an unknown location. The events of Re Mind and Yozora reveals that Sora is trapped in a place called the Quadratum, the realistic replica of the city of Shibuya from the in-game videogame ‘Verum Rex.’ Kingdom Hearts 4’s reveal trailer shows off Sora–with realistic shoes and proportions– traversing the city, fighting gigantic heartless across the world.
With the conclusion of the Xehanort Saga in KH3, it is unknown as to what the future holds for Sora and the Kingdom Hearts series. What’s known is that the Master of Masters’ motives are still unclear as they run rampant across the existing worlds of Light and Darkness.
