Days Gone Remastered Gameplay
Days Gone Remastered brings an enhanced and optimized version of the original open-world, action-adventure survival experience.
Set in the rugged wilderness of the Pacific Northwest, players step into the boots of a drifter struggling to survive with only his wits, his motorcycle, and whatever he can scavenge. The landscape is overrun by Freakers—fast, relentless, and highly dangerous creatures that roam in massive hordes.
Survival relies on a mix of firearms, melee combat, and stealth takedowns to avoid drawing the attention of the swarm. When fighting isn't an option or when the road ahead stretches far, cross-country riding becomes essential.
This remastered edition introduces new game modes, including Permadeath Mode, where every decision is a matter of life or death, Speedrun Mode for those who seek efficiency, and the all-new Horde Assault Mode, offering an intense test of endurance against overwhelming odds.
Days Gone Remastered Story Plot
Days Gone follows Deacon St. John, a former outlaw-turned-drifter, as he navigates a post-apocalyptic Oregon overrun by zombie-like creatures called Freakers.
Two years after a global pandemic, Deacon believes his wife, Sarah, died during the initial outbreak. He survives alongside his best friend, Boozer, taking jobs from various factions while struggling with grief and the harsh realities of the new world.
Over time, Deacon discovers Sarah is alive, working in a military research facility controlled by the authoritarian NERO organization. He fights to reunite with her, uncovering secrets about the Freakers and NERO’s experiments.
Although the game's remastered version will not have any additional story or narrative expansions, it does explore new ways for players to experience the base game's story through its Permadeath and Speedrun modes.
