Nintendo Highlights Upcoming Releases In Report
Nintendo Direct In April
Nintendo reconfirms several first-party titles slated for release later this 2025 in its recently revealed financial report. Two titles are confirmed for launch within the first quarter of the year, namely Donkey Kong Country Returns HD on January 16th, and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on March 20th. Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will also be coming out this year, but no specific release date has been announced as of writing.
No further projects have been announced either, but the Nintendo Direct will be going live on air on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025. The broadcast time will be revealed on a later date through the official Nintendo website and on their social media platforms. While it is supposedly more focused on the Nintendo Switch 2 console, fans are still hoping that more Switch 2-exclusive titles will be revealed or teased during the event.
Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Ahead Of Launch
Additionally, the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will launch this year as well. As per the financial report slides, the console’s release is presumably in the latter half of the year as live in-person Nintendo Switch 2 Experience events will be held in 15 various locations across the globe such as New York, Tokyo, and Amsterdam starting in April. Most locations’ registrations for the event have now ended, but interested fans can sign up on a waitlist for a chance to win a ticket. On the other hand, ticket applications for the Japan leg of the event tour are still up until February 20th JST.

Super Nintendo World Expands To Orlando, Florida
In an effort to expand Nintendo IPs even further, a new Super Nintendo World theme park is slated to open in the United States. Located in Orlando, Florida at the Universal Orlando Resort’s Universal Epic Universe, the park is scheduled to open on May 22nd, 2025. This will be Super Nintendo World’s second location in the country, following its first debut in Universal Studios Hollywood in California last February 2023. Super Nintendo World in Orlando will feature the iconic colorful landscapes of Super Mario Land and the lush tropical locale of Donkey Kong Country on its launch day.
Nintendo is also planning to launch Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Singapore but aside from a projected release year of 2025, there have been no further developments or announcements about it.
