Monster Hunter Wilds Continues To Be One of The Most Popular Games of 2025
Monster Hunter Wilds is Popular Due To Its Story, Immersion, and Crossplay
MH Wilds has sold over 8 million units in 3 days since its release, and so has becomeCapcom’s fastest-selling title. In an interview with The Nikkei on March 10, Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto attributes MH Wilds’ popularity to its emphasis in the game’s story its voice work. He also noted how crossplay helped the game bring more people together across different game consoles.
Last month, Tsujimoto mentioned in an interview with GamesRadar+ the importance of the PC platform and how much emphasis they put on crossplay. He acknowledged that PC is a growing platform in Japan and the world, and stated, "We worked very hard to achieve that this time around." Tsujimoto explained, "That means the choice is yours on which platform you want to play with, and then [you can just] go online and hunt with your friends."
Despite Tsujimoto’s comments on the story of the game, some fans disagree and believe that the story was not to their liking. Based on multiple Steam discussions, most of their issues revolve around the game having long Seikrit rides and uninteresting dialogue. However, fans do understand and mentioned that players are not playing Monster Hunter games for its story, but rather its gameplay.
Here at Game8, Monster Hunter Wilds received an overall score of 90 out of 100 due to it improving upon its predecessors’ features with its quality-of-life additions, addicting gameplay, breathtaking visuals, and surprisingly compelling story. Voice Actor for Gemma Asks For “Tips for Beginners” As She Plays Monster Hunter Wilds
It seems that even the cast of MH Wilds can’t get enough of the game, for Gemma’s voice actor (VA) Kristen McGuire asked fans for "tips for beginners" as she starts her journey. In a Reddit post on March 9. McGuire introduced herself to the fans as the English VA for Gemma and told fans that she just recently got a copy of the game. She said that this would be her first game in the series and asked fans for tips for a beginner like herself.
Fans have flocked to the comments section, giving her advice on different aspects of the game, such as approaching the game at her own pace, using a lot of potions if need be, making weapon choices, and more . It looks like she took the fans’ advice and adjusted her playstyle in the game, editing the original post saying, "Omg thank you all so much! This is way more tips than I expected, haha. Following your advice, I tried a few different weapons and have switched over to dual blades for the time being. I’m dying less, hooray!"
New Limited-Time Event Quest Is Good For Farming Armor Spheres
In other news, the new limited-time event quest, Tongue Tied, is now available in MH Wilds. Monster Hunter announced on Twitter (X) on March 12 that the event will run alongside the current event quest, Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo. The Tongue-Tied event will last until March 18 at 7:00 PM EST.
The event will feature the very first monster players face in the introductory part of the game: the Chatacabra. However, despite the familiarity of players with this monster, the event will have its Tempered version, making it more challenging as it will deal more damage and have higher HP. After hunting down the Tempered Chatacabara, players will be rewarded with a bundle of Hard Armor Spheres and Advanced Armor Spheres, which can be used to upgrade the defense of armor pieces.
