Monster Hunter Wilds Surpassed 8 Million Units in 3 Days
Monster Hunter Wilds Is Now Capcom’s Fastest Selling Game
Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) is now Capcom’s fastest-selling game, selling over 8 million units in 3 days since its release. Capcom has posted on their website the announcement that MH Wilds is the fastest title to reach this milestone in the company’s history.
It was previously reported that according to SteamDB, MH Wilds has seen success since its launch as the game reached over 1.3 million concurrent players in Steam despite having mixed reviews. Capcom attributes this accomplishment to the team’s constant promotion to a broad audience, exhibiting at global video game events, and holding an open beta test to showcase to players what the game has.
Latest Update Addressed Game-Breaking Bug
MH Wilds has now addressed bugs that limited players’ progress in the game. Monster Hunter’s official support account, Monster Hunter Status, posted on Twitter (X) on March 4, 2025 that hot fix patch Ver.1.000.04.00 is now live on all platforms.
This update fixed some bugs, such as the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features not being unlocked despite meeting the criteria, the Monster Field Guide not being accessed, the game-breaking bug that blocks story progression on Chapter 5-2 "A World Turned Upside Down," and more. Furthermore, players need to update the game first to continue playing online.
However, some bugs are not addressed, including a network error occurring when players fire an SOS flare after a quest begins, Palico’s blunt weapon attacks not inflicting stun and exhaust damages, and more. These multiplayer-related bugs will likely be handled in a future patch.
Event Quests Live Now
The first two event quests for MH Wilds were released on March 4 at 7:00 PM EST. MH Wilds announced on Twitter (X) that "Kut-ku Gone Cuckoo" and "Stalking Supper" events are now live on all platforms. According to the post, this will be the start of the game releasing free, limited-time quests with special rewards regularly.
MH Wilds also provided a detailed schedule for the upcoming event quests for the next 3 weeks. The "Kut-Ku Gone Cuckoo" event lets players hunt a Yian Kut-Ku to craft the adorable Mimiphyta α headgear. It will be available until March 18, 3:59 PM PT / 23:59 GMT.
