Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s ESRB rating revealed the return of Peep Demo Theater. Read on to learn more about what the feature includes and changes in the game’s camouflage system.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Returning and Improved Features
Peep Demo Theater Returns
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (MGS Delta) has recently received its rating from ESRB, and it looks like the developers have faithfully recreated the original game with the return of an explicit feature. MGS Delta received an M for Mature rating from ESRB, and within its rating summary, revealed that the Peep Demo Theater would be returning in this version of the game.
The Peep Demo Theater is an extra feature in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’s Subsistence and HD Collection versions where it shows every cutscene of the game with female spy EVA, but in her underwear. In this feature, players can freely move the camera to their liking, and even zoom in closer to any part of her body. To unlock this, players must collect all other cutscenes in the Demo Theater, which requires four playthroughs of the game.
The rating the game received isn’t surprising, as players "assume the role of an elite soldier trying to stop special forces behind enemy lines", meaning violence and gore would be recurring themes. However, the return of the so-called "Creepy mode" is surprising, as most fans did not expect this explicit content to return due to its sexual and controversial nature.
Faster Camouflage System
In other news, a welcome addition to MGS Delta’s gameplay is its quicker way to change camouflage. In a Twitter (X) post made by METAL GEAR OFFICIAL on March 28, a video showing an improved process to change camouflage was shown. The post read, "Change camouflage for faces, uniforms, and more on the fly with this new feature in METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER."
Based on the footage, players can swap their camo in less than three seconds, which pales in comparison to how sluggish it felt in the original game. In MGS3, changing camo was a tedious task as players needed to pause the game, go through the menu, open the Camo section, and change their preferred option. This slows down the pacing of the game, especially during stealth sections, dulling Metal Gear’s immersiveness.
As the release of MGS Delta draws near, fans are eagerly waiting for the remake to come, bearing returning features and having quality-of-life improvements that would make their playthrough experience better. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to be released on August 26, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
