Metal Gear Solid Delta Launches August 28th

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s release date has been revealed to be August 28th, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, according to a Release Date Trailer posted by GameSpot on their official YouTube channel. The trailer was also spotted on the game’s PlayStation Store digital storefront, showcasing its upgraded visuals for the upcoming game.
Konami themselves have yet to officially announce the game’s release date trailer on their social media platforms, but at least fans can now be reassured after nearly two years, this long-anticipated remake is definitively coming in August of this year.
First announced back in PlayStation Showcase May 2023, it was initially gearing up for a 2024 release. However, it instead released trailers during the Xbox Games Showcase and the Tokyo Game Show that focused on gameplay footage.
According to the official Metal Gear X (Twitter), the modern remake will remain faithful to the first iteration, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, from gameplay to the very same audio by the voice actors—hence its Delta identity. "The Delta symbol (Δ) was chosen because its meaning fits the concept of the remake project. Delta means ‘change’ or ‘difference’ without changing structure," they wrote in a X (Twitter) post dated May 2023.
Bundled With A Snake Vs. Monkey Mode
In addition to the exciting footage showcased in the trailer, another surprise was shown at the end of the video. The PlayStation classic Ape Escape franchise will seemingly make an appearance in the Metal Gear Solid (MGS) world as well, as one of the iconic apes jumps up from behind the log in the trailer and taunts the viewer before running away. However, there’s no concrete details as to what exactly this entails as of writing. According to the trailer, this doesn’t seem to be the sole collaboration between the game and other known series, as it concluded with a mysterious "And more…"
