Marvel Rivals Backtracks On Their Player Rank Reset
Dev Talk 11 Updates on Seasonal Rank Adjustments
Marvel Rivals backtracks on their previous plans for player rank reset after receiving fan complaints. The official Marvel Rivals Twitter (X) posted a new update regarding its seasonal rank adjustments, going back on their previous update plans.
This comes after the game received fan complaints after posting Dev Talk 10 that revolved around players’ rank resetting, dropping down four divisions. Fans pointed out that this system is discouraging, especially for players trying to climb up the ranks, as the update suggests that rank resets will come every 45 days or half-season.
With the latest Dev Talk 11, Marvel Rivals backtracked on their previous plans for rank resetting and confirmed that there will be no rank reset. Players will retain their scores and rank from the end of the first half of the season. However, end-of-season rank resets remain with players dropping down six divisions.
Human Torch, The Thing, And Other Updates Still On The Way
Despite the recent U-turn on the decision for the half-season player rank resets, other updates are still underway. The upcoming release of new heroes Human Torch and The Thing is still pushing through after the update, putting the roster to 39 heroes. NetEase Games previously mentioned that the game would receive two new playable characters every season, with each season lasting three months.
Additionally, rewards for those who reached the Gold rank and above remain unchanged, with players in those ranks after the update receiving a free Invisible Woman costume. Those ranked Grandmaster and above will receive Crests of Honor to recognize their ranking. New rewards will be given to those who reach Gold rank at the end of the season, which include another free costume and Crests of Honor for Grandmaster and above.
They also previously mentioned that there would be balance adjustments coming after the mid-season update However, there are no details yet regarding these balance adjustments.
