Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Celebrates Like A Dragon 20th Anniversary
Fans Can Vote For Like a Dragon 20th Anniversary Merch Until March 21, 2025
Like A Dragon (LAD) will celebrate its 20th Anniversary this year in December 2025. Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studios kicked off the celebration by announcing a special fan-voting project that lets fans vote on their favorite LAD in-game items to be turned into real merchandise.
Fans can choose from a total of 100 items including lingerie, incense, mahjong tiles, a karaoke microphone, a luxury lighter, 20th-anniversary sake, themed pillows, Kiryu’s dragon mask, and more items referencing the game’s rich history. According to the RGG voting website, the top-voted item will be "definitely" commercialized within the next two years.
The voting period started on February 8, 2025 and will last until March 21, 2025. Fans may only vote for their desired merchandise once a day. After the voting period ends, a separate questionnaire will be announced to determine what kind of design the top-voted item will have.
Like A Dragon 20th Anniversary May Possibly See More Yakuza Remakes
RGG Studio first mentioned its plans for the lead-up to its 20th Anniversary in a Twitter (X) post on December 8, 2024 during its 19th Anniversary. In the video, RGG Studios Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed his gratitude to fans for their continued support for the series.
To begin their 20th Anniversary, RGG will be releasing Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii on February 20, 2025. After that, Yokoyama shared that they will be holding various events and making announcements leading up to the 20th anniversary, as well as the merchandise voting project which is already underway.
However, since the video, there have been no new announcements regarding other events or games for the 20th anniversary. Their 10th anniversary may be an indicator of what’s to come, as RGG previously announced remakes of their games that year, which led to Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami’s release. Regardless, fans are still expecting something big for LAD’s 20th anniversary.
Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii PC Requirements
Recommended Specs Not A Problem For Most Gaming Units
RGG Studio announced on Twitter (X) on February 10, 2025 the PC requirements for LAD: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The recommended graphics card for the game will be Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or any equivalent or newer, which would not be a problem for most gaming units.
Since the game will also be released on previous-gen consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, specifications for PC would not be difficult to meet. RGG Studios also confirmed that the game is Steam Deck verified.
SEGA also recently uploaded on YouTube the game’s story trailer, featuring Majima’s journey out on the High Seas, as narrated by Pirate King Raymond Law, voiced and played by wrestling superstar Samoa Joe.
