inZOI Director Promises More Things To Come
Not Just Another Early Access Game
In a Twitter (X) post by inZOI’s official account on March 29, inZOI Director Hyungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim shared his thoughts and promises through a letter dedicated to the fans. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the reception inZOI received and apologized for the game's issues. Kjun pointed out that the team is constantly listening to community feedback and is working harder to address their concerns.
He stated, "Although we may be lacking right now, we are determined to prove that this is not just another "Early Access" game that just take advantage of it. We truly wish to communicate with you, build this game together, and remain dedicated to that promise." Kjun felt a sense of responsibility with how much the fans have supported the game thus far, and will continue to expand the game.
inZOI successfully launched in Early Access on March 28, having an all-time peak of over 87,000 concurrent players on Steam and having an overall "Very Positive" review score. Despite some crashes and bugs, such as letting children get run over, Krafton remained dedicated to bringing a high-quality game and has resolved these issues as quickly as possible.
Here at Game8, we think that inZOI looks promising, rivalling even the life-siim giant The Sims 4. Its in-depth customization for its characters, buildings, and open-world is truly remarkable. For more on our thoughts regarding inZOI’s Early Access release, check out our article below!
Taking A Short Break
inZOI has been hyped since its reveal in 2023 and has drawn comparisons to the life-sim giant The Sims 4, gaining huge expectations as the next big life-sim. In the lead up to its Early Access launch, Krafton made sure to let fans be involved with the process, actively interacting in their Discord server, having the Online Showcase, releasing the Creative Mode, and more.
With this, the team decided to take a quick breather. Kjun said, "At the moment, our team is a bit worn out from launch preparations, so we will be taking a short break to recharge." After this, they plan on establishing a dedicated channel on inZOI’s official Discord server to discuss fan feedback thoroughly.
Additionally, Kjun realized that quick updates also introduce unexpected issues, so they will prioritize stability and be critical in their internal reviews before implementing new changes.
Afterward, fans had their concerns about what would happen to the game in their absence. However, Kjun immediately addressed these in the latest post on inZOI’s Steam page on April 1 and announced some changes in their roadmap.
He clarified that the "short break" he alluded to in his letter was just two days of vacation, and apologized if his wording caused worry to the fans. Furthermore, there would be additional hotfix patches coming this week, and the team would continue to monitor feedback and development builds. With that sorted out, Kjun explained their future update plans and how they will communicate them.
During the inZOI Online Showcase, the developers introduced inZOI’s development roadmap for 2025, with plans to provide free additional updates and content for May, August, October, and December 2025. However, Kjun said that they intend to quickly resolve reported issues through hotfixes during April. He elaborated, "These short-term updates are smaller in scale compared to major updates, but we expect that rolling out content faster and incorporating feedback more promptly will have a more positive effect on your gameplay experience."
Meanwhile, the team is looking for more ways to improve their communication with the community, with plans on making their Discord server more accessible. They are planning to accommodate all time zones and languages, highlighting the importance of their global community. Kjun stated, "The passionate and large-scale global community of inZOI is a next-level experience for us, and we are going through some trial and error in finding the optimal means of communication."
inZOI is now available for Early Access on PC. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for its full launch. As of writing, the release date for its full release is still unknown. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
