inZOI Developers Responded to Questions About Explicit Content

There Will Be "Sort Of" A Sex Feature

inZOI is soon to be released for early access, and fans want to know which features are included, specifically things related to sex and nudity. In inZOI’s official Discord channel, three team leads from the game answered questions in a live segment called "Ask Me (almost) Anything," which was translated by inZOI Assistant Director Joel Lee.

Questions revolved around the game's realism, such as caring for babies, body size, and driving cars. However, a recurring theme in the questions was related to explicit content, particularly sex and nudity.

Lee tried his best to deliver a safe-for-work response and said, "Our answer is: sort of. There is a feature in the game that you obviously know what's happening, the male Zoi and the female Zoi are together, likely in bed, with the intention of creating babies. How visually apparent is that? That's where you have to go to your imagination. What you're seeing is not what you're seeing; you have to assume that's what's happening. Is that clear enough for everyone? It's there. Sort of. Maybe not to the level that everyone would have been expecting."

The statement is pretty unclear at this point, but this does confirm that sex would be a feature available in the game, albeit the animations and the process of it will be adjusted to cater to a wider audience. Fans may also expect a more realistic approach given that inZOI is geared towards this theme, compared to how goofy and animated the Sims carry out these features.

Blurring Effects Don’t Work Well With inZOI

Players asked developers why Zois showered with their towel on, and the answer relates to how blurring effects do not work well with the game’s art style. The developers said pixelated blurring effects work well with cartoony-style games like The Sims.

inZOI’s approach and overall art style is more realistic, and when the developers tried to apply the same pixelated effect, it felt more sexually suggestive rather than just wearing a towel. Additionally, there was a bug during testing that, when players tried to take a look at the mirror, the Zois reflection could be seen without the visual effects, rendering them fully naked, which is something the developers worked to fix.

Making inZOI Available to All

Despite the questions surrounding sex and nudity, the game was already given a T for Teen rating by the ESRB, similar to The Sims 4. This means that regardless of the features mentioned about explicit content, inZOI would still cater to a wide variety of audiences while keeping it safe for work. Lee mentioned how the team wanted to target everyone for their game and stated, "We wanted to provide a game that was widely available to as many age groups as possible,"

The developers have previously announced that there will be a live stream showcase on March 19, 2025, at 01:00 UTC on inZOI’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. Players will get to know more about the game’s early access pricing, DLC, and the game’s developmental roadmap, as well as additional information and answers to fan questions.

inZOI launches its early access on Steam on March 28, 2025 and the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As of writing, there are no official announcements for a specific release date of the game. Check out our inZOI page to stay up to date on the latest information about the game.
