GTA 6’s second trailer was captured entirely using the PS5, according to Rockstar Games. Read on to learn more about how the trailer was presented and things fans might have missed in the video.
GTA 6 Second Trailer Information
Captured Entirely Using PS5
Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) has been making waves lately with its announcements and reveals, including a whole new trailer. Fans were amazed at the realism and quality they saw in its second trailer. Following this, Rockstar Games revealed on Twitter (X) on May 8 that it was captured entirely using the PlayStation 5.
The post said it was "captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5, composed of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes." Some fans wondered which parts of the video were gameplay, given that everything presented seemed like cutscenes due to its high quality. A fan pointed out that all cutscenes in Rockstar Games run in-game, but some are still in disbelief that what they saw is in-game and not purely cutscenes.
Furthermore, they were also curious whether Rockstar Games was referring to PS5 or PS5 Pro, since there is a big difference in performance and graphical settings between those versions. Rockstar Games has yet to answer these questions, so fans just have to wonder for now.
Things You Might Have Missed: GTA 6 Second Trailer
The trailer showed a lot of things to fans, some obvious and some needing a double or triple take to be discovered. For one thing, GTA 6 looks to bring back Phil Cassidy, a recurring character from the series who sells guns to the players. However, fans noticed that his design has changed, particularly his physique, and could possibly not be exactly the Phil they knew and loved.
Even if his design changed, Phil seems to be the same personality-wise, still part of the gun business with an Ammu-Nation store chain. Another thing fans saw during the part of the video was a PS5 console and controller, possibly a nod that the trailer was captured using the said gaming system.
Another thing that Rockstar Games may be looking to bring back to the series is the Gym System. This was first introduced in GTA San Andreas, where players can hit various gyms and work on their build. This is evidenced by the protagonist Jason Duval being seen working out on a beach.
Other activities were seen in the trailer, including golf, fishing, scuba diving, hunting, basketball, kayaking, fight clubs, and more. Although unconfirmed, these activities may actually be in the game, given that Rockstar said that everything in the trailer was captured in-game.
There are more references and easter eggs fans are finding out each day that passes by. Despite the recent announcement of its delay, players are still eagerly waiting for its eventual release. GTA 6 is now set to be released on May 26, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
