Nightreign Reveals 6th Class, Ironeye

A Deadly Ranged Sniper

Elden Ring: Nightreign has revealed a new class ahead of its May release, called the Ironeye. This deadly sniper class offers a new approach to ranged gameplay, focusing on swiftness and dexterity. The character trailer showcases its gameplay, wielding a massive bow and arrow set-up and the ability to run up walls for the perfect mid-air attack. With its addition to the spin-off, it also makes use of a new aiming system that supposedly makes it easier to get headshots. The character even performed a riposte move on an enemy—with a bow and arrow straight to the heart.

During the Nightreign closed network test last February, four out of eight playable classes were able to be tried and tested by players, namely the all-rounder Wylder, tanky Guardian, nimble-bodied Duchess, and the magic-wielding Recluse. Ironeye is the sixth class, and with Nightreign coming next month, it wouldn’t be a surprise if FromSoftware dropped the last two classes later this month as well.

Seeing the number of quality-of-life improvements being shown, such as the aforementioned new aiming system, some fans are hoping that these adjustments will also make their way to the original title, which in turn may make using bows as weapons more appealing than they once were.

As seen in several social media websites such as Reddit, bows have been an unpopular main weapon, seeing as how powerful being a melee user was in the original Elden Ring. With this revamped sniper class showing that bows and arrows can be just as powerful, more players may now be willing to try out a ranged build this time around.

Elden Ring: Nightreign, a standalone Elden Ring adventure, is slated for release on May 30th, 2025, for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for $39.99. For more information about the game, check out Game8’s article below!
