New Story Trailer and Large-Scale Beta Weekend Announced
Dune: Awakening is ramping up towards its launch with an upcoming large-scale beta weekend. Funcom announced on their official website on April 25 that they will be having a weekend dedicated to Dune: Awakening’s global beta test. They also revealed a new trailer featuring some of the game’s cinematic cutscenes and story snippets.
According to the post, the beta test will have a huge number of new players, and compared to their previous closed betas, will have no NDA, so players can share their experiences and even stream them online. The post reads, "With access to the first 20 hours of the game and most of Act 1 of the story, you will get a taste of both spice and story."
Players have a chance to gain access to the Beta weekend by wishlisting and requesting access to the game via Dune: Awakening’s Steam page, or receiving Beta codes during the game’s global broadcast on May 10. More information will be shared about the beta soon.
Global LAN Party on May 10
Furthermore, Funcom will hold a Global Dune: Awakening LAN party broadcast from both London and PAX East on May 10 at 12 PM PDT / 3 PM EDT / 9 PM CEST / 8 PM BST on their official Twitch channel. You can check out the timetable below to find out what time the stream starts in your region:

During the event, hosts will jump to different locations around the world to check on people playing the game. Lead developers are also present to discuss the game, while content creators will be facing off in-game in an exciting competition.
Additionally, tens of thousands of Beta keys will be given during the broadcast, giving players immediate access to the Beta weekend. A few days before this, the developers will have their third livestream featuring the game’s base-building mechanics.
