Sold Over 1 Million Copies in 3 Days
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched with a resounding success, hitting major milestones and receiving praise from everyone in the industry within the first week of its release. Developer Sandfall Interactive took to Twitter (X) on April 27 to share its latest achievement: selling over 1 million copies three days after its release.
Earlier last week, Expedition 33 hit its first milestone, selling over 500,000 copies within 24 hours of its release. They also noted that this number does not include the Game Pass players, so the metrics could very well be higher than this.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 also marks the debut of French-based studio Sandfall Interactive, and is described as an interactive turn-based RPG inspired by Belle-Epoque aesthetics. Highest Player Rated Score in 2025
Expedition 33 continues to gain praise not only from developers and review sites but also from the whole player community. It was previously reported that Expedition 33 is the highest-rated game of 2025 based on its 92 aggregate score on Metacritic.
However, the game has also made a huge impression on the general public with its 9.7 user score on Metacritic, making it the highest player-rated score in 2025. It recently had its highest concurrent player count on Steam with over 120,000 players, and it also enjoys a "Very Positive" rating on the platform, having 92% of its reviews being positive.
