Avowed One-Shot On The Day Of The Game’s Release
Critical Role Will Host Avowed One-Shot Campaign
Avowed will have a one-shot campaign which will be hosted by Critical Role, a group of professional voice actors that role-plays in different Dungeon and Dragons campaigns. In a Twitter (X) post on February 12, 2025, Critical Role announced that they will host a one-shot campaign for Avowed on February 18, 2025, the day of the game’s release.
A one-shot is a self-contained adventure that is played in a single session. Unlike Critical Role’s other main campaigns which span many episodes and months of real-time play, one-shots offer a shorter, more focused story experience.
The event is sponsored and will be in collaboration with Xbox Games and Avowed. Critical Role’s Avowed-themed one-shot "Delive Into Dawnshore" will take place on February 18, 2025 at 7 PM PST on Critical Role’s YouTube, Twitch, or their own Beacon streaming service.
Avowed Actor Will Join Critical Role
Anjali Bhimani, the voice of Yaztli in Avowed, will join the campaign as they become an envoy from the Aedyr Empire tasked to explore the verdant Living Lands of Eora and investigate the Dream Scourge. Bhimani also starred in different roles such as Symmetra in Overwatch 2 and Rampart in Apex Legends, and previously guested in other Critical Role campaigns and one-shots.
The campaign will be led by Game Master Matthew Mercer, with other cast members and guests joining such as Marisha Ray (Eugenie in Fallout 76), Travis Willingham (Thor and Dr. Doom in Marvel Rivals), SungWon Cho a.k.a. ProZD (Ratatoskr in God of War Ragnarok), and Whitney Moore (Stargirl from Young Justice).
Previous Critical Role One-Shots
Critical Role has hosted several video game campaigns and one-shots in the past, which include Elden Ring, Mortal Kombat 1, Shadow of War, Persona 5 Tactica, Doom Eternal, and more.
One of the most recent video game-inspired one-shots is with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Critical Role was joined by voice actors Emily Piggford who played Tomiko, and Peter Shinkoda who played Fujibayashi Nagato. The AC Shadows one-shot was aired on January 14, 2025, and is available on Critical Role’s YouTube and Twitch channels.
