The developer of the Aragami series, Lince Works, announced that it would be shutting down in April. Learn more about the reason why the studio is closing and if the Aragami series will still be available!
Lince Works Shutting Down Announcement on Twitter
On March 7, 2023, Lince Works stated on their Twitter and company blog that they will no longer continue the development of new projects, officially closing its doors down in April. The sudden news shocked and confused the fans since the studio revealed last year in September that it had started focusing on "brand-new adventures " and appears to be hiring senior AI and gameplay programmer positions less than two months ago.
In a brief statement, Lince Works explained that financial and economic struggles were the reasons for its closure. They also added that " they ran out of time".
The studio was founded in 2014 and released its debut title, Aragami, on October 4, 2016. It was followed by its sequel, Aragami 2 on September 17, 2021. Although neither game was particularly popular, it was well-received by Steam Users by its level design and online co-op multiplayer mode.
Is Aragami and Aragami 2 Still Available to Purchase?
Despite its impending closure, Lince Works assured fans that both games, Aragami and Aragami 2 will continue to be available on all platforms and storefronts along with the second game's online co-op multiplayer feature. Gamers can purchase Aragami on Steam, Microsoft Store Xbox, PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop for $19.99. The same goes for Aragami 2, but it will cost you $34.99 instead.
