Shadow Labyrinth Gameplay
From the brief glimpse of Shadow Labyrinth revealed at The Game Awards 2024, it appears to be an action-platformer with a Metroidvania twist, incorporating thematic and mechanical nods to Pac-Man. Elements like collecting orbs and evading enemies harken back to the arcade classic, but the similarities end there.
Primarily an action-focused game, Shadow Labyrinth equips players with a primary weapon—a sword, as shown in the trailer. This versatile tool allows players to slash through enemies and deflect incoming projectiles.
Recent gameplay footage for Shadow Labyrinth confirms that players will control both previously introduced characters: the agile Swordsman No.8 and their hovering companion, PUCK. In addition, players will eventually gain access to GAIA, a powerful mechsuit that enables the consumption of enemy remains to collect upgrade points. These points can later be used to purchase additional enhancements.
