⚫︎ FromSoftware has released a new trailer showcasing Duchess, one of eight predetermined playable characters in Elden Ring: Nightreign. Unlike its predecessor, Nightreign does not include a character creator, instead featuring eight fixed characters—four of which have been revealed so far.
⚫︎ Elden Ring: Nightreign will feature bosses from previous Elden Ring and FromSoftware titles, but fans speculating about their lore significance may not need to overthink it. In an interview with GameSpot, Elden Ring Nightreign director Junya Ishizaki clarified that the inclusion of these familiar foes is primarily for gameplay purposes.
Elden Ring: Nightreign Overview
Elden Ring: Nightreign was announced at TGA 2024 and is under development by FromSoftware. It will be a three-player co-op action role-playing game featuring many of Elden Ring's popular soulslike mechanics.
Players will be able to choose from one of eight characters, called Nightfarers, all with set names, appearances, stats, skills, arts, and initial equipment. From there, they can choose to either work together with their team to avoid danger or go at it alone to focus on item hunting or leveling up, before regrouping.
The game takes players to Limveld, a parallel realm and counterpart of Limgrave where the area is cloaked in darkness and danger. With the rise of the Nightlord threatening its delicate balance, players assume the roles of Nightfarers, each with their own distinct backstory and mission.

Elden Ring: Nightreign Gameplay
Gameplay Overview
Elden Ring: Nightreign will be an online co-op survival action game, centered around surviving in a 3-man team over three days. Players will take on the role of Nightfarers, build up their characters through exploration during the day, and then wage life or death boss battles each night, winning only once the final boss on the third night is felled.
Elden Ring: Nightreign seems to play very similarly to the original Elden Ring with difficult soulslike combat, the abillity to cast spells, and the luxury of customizing the player's character freely. However, it will also feature a three-player co-op functionality, distinguishing itself from the mostly single-player experience of its predecessor.
Each unsuccessful run rewards players with relics, allowing them to customize and upgrade their characters to suit their unique playstyles.
Playable Nightfarers in Nightreign
The game will feature a total of 8 playable characters, each with unique abilities. Currently, only four characters have been officially revealed. Below is the list of confirmed characters so far:
