DOOM: The Dark Ages Overview
DOOM: The Dark Ages, the upcoming action FPS from id Software and Bethesda, is scheduled for release in 2025. As the eighth mainline entry in the DOOM series and the third installment since the franchise's soft reboot with 2016's DOOM, this title places the iconic Doom Slayer in a medieval setting filled with an array of weapons, demons, and visceral combat.

The game's trailer reveals several additions, including a fresh arsenal featuring weapons like the shield saw and the introduction of a powerful Slayer Mech, the Atlan.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Gameplay
Most details about the progression and unlock systems in DOOM: The Dark Ages remain undisclosed, though its core gameplay closely aligns with the established formula of the DOOM series.
Players take control of the Doom Slayer, battling through a medieval hellscape teeming with demons. The arsenal features a mix of series staples and new additions, ensuring a familiar yet fresh combat experience. Classic weapons like the Super Shotgun return, complemented by new tools of destruction, including the shield saw, a demonic flail, a skull grinder, and a stake launcher.
Taking note of what else was shown in the game's trailer, a new slayer mech will also be available for players at some point in the game, as well as a flying mechanical dragon.
