After years of waiting, Silksong finally received a 2025 release window during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation on April 2, 2025!
Before this, the Steam metadata for Hollow Knight: Silksong's Steam front has been updated on March 23rd, 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET to reflect several changes. Notable edits include the change in the game's legal lines from "Team Cherry 2019" to "Team Cherry 2025", as well as an opt-in for NVIDIA’s video game streaming platform, GeForce Now, and changed assets.
It’s been over five full years since Hollow Knight: Silksong has been announced, and all recent signs point to the game being released soon! Its official Xbox store page was made public exactly on April 1, driving fans insane as whether it was an April Fools’ joke. Another discovery was that it was rated by the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee(GRAC) back on February 20, 2024. Team Cherry's Matthew Griffin announced on Twitter(X) that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be delayed. Despite initial plans for a first-half 2023 release, Team Cherry determined that additional development time was necessary to meet their vision for the game.

Sony confirmed in a tweet that Hollow Knight: Silksong would also be coming to PS5 and PS4.
June 12, 2022
A new trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong debuted at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase in June 2022. The announcement confirmed the game's availability on Xbox Series X|S and its inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass library at launch.
Xbox's Twitter(X) account confirmed that the game would be coming in 2023.
