Silent Hill f will be playable on Steam Deck, but would require some configuration. Read on to learn more about Valve’s Steam Deck classification for Silent Hill f, and the game’s PC requirements.
Silent Hill f Official Testing Results For Steam Deck Released
Playable But Requires Configuration
Based on the results of Valve's official testing, Silent Hill f is playable on the Steam Deck. The game is not considered "verified" as some configurations are required for it to be perfectly compatible with the handheld device. To be "verified", the game needs to be fully functional with the device's controls and display, and must pass Valve’s checks for input, display, seamlessness, and system support.
According to the results, Silent Hill f on the Steam Deck has all functionality accessible when using the default controller configuration, and it shows the Steam Deck controller icons. However, some in-game text is small and may be difficult to read. The game also requires manual configuration for it to perform well on the Steam Deck.
This is a major improvement considering Silent Hill 2 Remake was unsupported for the Steam Deck despite patches to improve its Steam Deck experience. Konami has yet to announce an official release date for Silent Hill f, which means the developers still have time to optimize it.
PC System Requirements
Last month, Konami released the PC requirements for Silent Hill f on its Steam store page. With this, players can infer how well Silent Hill f fares on Steam’s handheld device. Here is the full table for the game’s minimum and recommended specs.

For the minimum specs, the NVIDIA GTX 1070 runs the game at 720p at 30fps on Performance Quality settings. Considering Steam Deck’s GPU, players can expect somewhat of a downgrade compared to Silent Hill f’s minimum PC requirements. Running it at 720p on the Steam Deck may not be as bad, but some players connect their devices to HD TVs, which then would be noticeable. Additionally, Konami notes that an SSD is recommended.
For the recommended specs, players can choose either Performance settings at 60fps or Quality settings at 30fps. For these settings, an SSD is required.
