S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Roadmap for Q2 2025
Updates Every 3 Months
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl developer GSC Gameworld revealed the latest roadmap for the game and promised updates every 3 months. STALKER’s official Twitter (X) posted on April 14 regarding the game’s roadmap for Q2 2025.
According to the developers, they will break down the roadmap into quarterly updates, providing more information every 3 months. There will also be patch notes to confirm whether the planned updates will be live in-game.
Following STALKER 2’s Q1 updates, which tackled big issues and rolled out multiple hotfixes, the developers will continue to deliver improvements to the game in response to player feedback. Based on their roadmap, here are the following updates fans can expect:
● Beta Mod SDK Kit
● A-Life/AI Updates
● Mutant Loot
● Shader Compilation Skip
● Player Stash Window Increase
● Wide Screen Aspect Ratio Support
● 2 New Weapons
● Further Stabilization, Optimization, and "Anomalies" Fixing
● STALKER Original Trilogy Next-Gen Update
Beta Mod SDK Kit, A-Life Updates, and More
GSC Gameworld listed down the updates they will implement and detailed 2 major aspects, namely the Beta Mod SDK Kit and more updates for their A-Life system. They plan to have a closed beta with Mod makers to test out the ModKit before its release. Additionally, they want to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop.
The A-Life System will continue to receive updates to further improve the game’s NPC AI and simulation. The developers have worked on this feature late last year and delivered a whopping 110 GB update for STALKER 2’s Christmas patch. This time around, they would be adding "persistent A-Life improvements" and "smarter human combat; better cover/flanking use, limited grenades."
There will also be updates for the mutants, as they now eat corpses and react to threats. Other things that the team will bring are mutant loot, the option to skip shader compilation, an increase in player stash window, wide screen aspect ratio support, 2 new unspecified weapons, and further stabilization and optimization.
As a side note, there will also be a next-gen update for STALKER’s original trilogy. Fans can expect more details to come when these updates are close to their release date.
