Pokémon Champions is Now in Development!
The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon Champions is now in development for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles and mobile platforms. The game will feature traditional turn-based battles reminiscent of the classic Pokémon Stadium games. Notably, Mega Evolutions and Tera Pokémon are seen battling against one another; a first for the series. Fingers crossed that this will provide a brand new format for competitive Pokémon tournaments.

Major Update to Pokémon Z-A, Releasing Fall 2025
After its initial announcement a year ago, more information has finally been revealed for the upcoming Pokémon Legends game, Z-A, including the game’s setting! The trailer featured the new duo protagonists as they journey across the grandiose Lumiose City, the central city of the Kalos region! It also showcases the three starter Pokémon: Chikorita, Totodile, and Tepig.
Making their highly anticipated return from Pokémon X/Y, AZ and his partner, the Eternal Flower Floette appear, this time as the owners of the hotel the players will be staying in. Wild Zones are also introduced, which are located across within the city boundaries for wild Pokémon to inhabit. Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ combat system is also expanded to allow Pokémon to fight in real time, which makes distance and area of effect vital in battles.
The game is set to release sometime during Fall 2025.
Pokémon Cafe ReMix Introduces New Apple-Based Menu Item
A new apple-based menu item called Appletun Fruitilicious Jelly Soda will be available for Pokémon Cafe ReMix. An upcoming event will happen on February 28, 2025 where players can choose either Flapple or Appletun to join their staff. Additionally, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly will gradually be available in special outfit packs.
Furthermore, players can now log in to get Pikachu in its Sweets outfit to join their staff. Players can also obtain Evee in its Sweets outfit to join their staff if they log in for three days.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Themed Booster Pack Triumphant Light Coming Soon
Themed booster packs featuring Arceus ex are coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket. Together with a slew of Pokémon that feature Link abilities that directly synergize with Arceus and Arceus ex, such as the set-release Tyranitar, Abomasnow, and Raichu, the meta will surely be shaken to its core this coming February 28, 2025.
Pokémon UNITE Sees Suicune, Alolan Raichu, and Alcremie Join the Fray This 2025
Suicune, Alolan Raichu, and Alcremie are set to join the Pokémon UNITE roster this 2025! Suicune arrives on March 1st, followed by Alolan Raichu in April, and Alcremie later in the year.

Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global To Take Place on March 1 and 2!
Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global is the next upcoming event for the mobile game, featuring the two legendary Pokémon Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in difficult Raid Battles and elsewhere. Victini and Shiny Meleotta can also be encountered out in the wild!
The end of the event will mark the start of the new Pokémon Go Season that will span from March 4 to June 3, 2025.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Brings Mega Evolutions to the Front With New Packs!
This coming 2025, it has been announced that Pokémon TCG will be publishing new cards featuring Mega Evolutions of Pokémon. From the short teaser, Mega Lucario and Mega Gardevoir F will be headlining the card packs, with more Mega Evolutions to follow down the line.
Pokémon Sleep Event Cresselia vs. Darkrai Coming Soon
There will be an upcoming Pokémon Sleep Event that will feature Cresselia and Darkrai. The announcement came with a short animation that showcased Cresselia and Darkrai battling in the night sky. There are no official announcements regarding a specific release date for the event.
New Pokémon Concierge Coming Exclusively to Netflix
New episodes of Pokémon Concierge are coming to Netflix soon. In the meantime, those interested in the series can watch the first four episodes on the official Pokémon YouTube channel from February 21, 2025, through March 9, 2025.
The story follows Haru, a new concierge in a Pokémon Resort on a tropical island together with her partner Psyduck. It will start airing on Netflix in September 2025.
Other Pokémon Day February 2025 Events and Announcements
In addition to the events and announcements revealed during the Pokémon Presents video presentation, Pokémon Day 2025 will also feature a variety of in-game, online, and on-site events for Pokémon fans around the world, featured for the day itself and for the rest of the month.
Celebrate the Year of the Eevee at The Pokémon Center
Pokémon Center, the official online store for Pokémon merchandise, is celebrating Eevee and its colorful parade of Eeveelutions with new product releases throughout 2025.
Fans can now collect hand-painted figures of Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon, with additional Eeveelution figure sets launching in waves of three later throughout the year. Pokémon Center will also introduce Eevee-themed product bundles, a new Eevee-themed kitchenware line, and a selection of Eevee plushies, exclusive to the Year of the Eevee.
The first wave of new Eeveelution merchandise includes a pearlescent trio of Funko Pop! vinyl figures. So far, only Vaporeon, Eevee’s first-generation Water-type evolution, has been revealed, with the other two first gen eeveelutions, Jolteon and Flareon, promising to release soon after.
Pokémon GO PokéStops Highlight Eevee, Glaceon, and Leafeon
Pokémon GO players can join in on the fun through a limited-time promotion running from now up until the end of the Pokémon Day celebrations on February 27th.
During the event, special PokéStops will be available at participating retailers, including Target, GameStop, and Best Buy. Additionally, Glacial and Mossy Lure Modules will be accessible in-game, providing an opportunity for players to evolve their Eevee into Glaceon and Leafeon in-game.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Eevee Distribution at GameStop
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet players can also take part in the Eevee celebrations by visiting their local participating GameStop or Best Buy outlets to receive a special distribution code. This code grants a free Flying–Tera Type Eevee and is available from now until the end of the Pokémon Day celebrations on February 27th, while supplies last.
Promo Cards and Demo Deck Giveaways at Participating Pokémon League Locations
Pokémon TCG players can take part in Pokémon Day celebrations through in-person Play! Pokémon events at participating Pokémon League locations. These non-competitive gatherings welcome both new and experienced players, offering opportunities to engage with the mainline Pokémon games, Pokémon GO, and the Pokémon TCG through dedicated learn-to-play sessions.
Attendees can also receive exclusive Pokémon TCG merchandise, including a Pokémon Day 2025 League Celebration promo card featuring Sylveon, available while supplies last. Additional giveaways include demo decks featuring Charizard ex and Pikachu ex, various Pokémon TCG accessories, and promo cards showcasing winning artwork from the Pokémon TCG Illustration Contest 2024.

What is Pokémon Day?
Pokémon Day, also known as National Pokémon Day, is an annual celebration held every February 27th to commemorate the 1996 Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green. Recognized internationally, the event features both online and on-site activities across the Pokémon franchise, including the mainline games, mobile titles like Pokémon GO and Pokémon Sleep, the Pokémon TCG, and various Pokémon media such as TV shows and movies.
While Pokémon Day was first widely celebrated in 2016, it was preceded by smaller, similarly-named European celebrations and events dating back to 2004, which usually focused more on promoting upcoming Pokémon products and media. Nowadays, the celebration helps mostly to connect with the Pokémon community and welcome newcomers and veterans to the franchise alike.
