Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 rolled out its first update since its release. In a Steam blog post on April 30, Sandfall Interactive announced that Hotfix 1.2.2 is now live, focusing on several bug fixes and localization improvements.

The bug fixes mentioned include in-game issues, such as experiencing a soft-lock from stunning the Grown Bourgeon, some soft-lock problems on the world map, and more. Meanwhile, adjustments to the French, German, and Chinese languages for some aspects of the game were added.

According to the post, the developers are working on a series of fixes and improvements and will share more soon. Although these patches are essential in improving the game, fans are clamoring for bigger updates, such as a potential DLC.

Earlier this week, Expedition 33’s lead writer headed to Instagram and responded to their fans’ messages, which revolved around the game possibly having DLC. She did not give any confirmation, but gave a positive response and pointed out that due to its success, Expedition 33 has a good chance of having a DLC.

Expedition 33 Director Recommends Another RPG Which Was Released on the Same Day

In other news, Sandfall Games' Creative Director Guillaume Broche recommended another RPG released the same day as Expedition 33. In his message via Expedition 33’s Twitter (X) posted on April 30, Broche urged fans to check out The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. He stated, "After your Expedition, check out The Hundred Line, another great turn-based RPG that was also released last week, and made with love by an awesome team."

This was a response to The Hundred Line’s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka's earlier tweet, where he shouted out Expedition 33. In a Twitter (X) post on April 28, he said, "Even after you finish Expedition 33, this Japanese cult game will still be here, waiting for you!" Kodaka then made a series of tweets praising Expedition 33 and telling fans to try out both amazing RPGs.

Despite releasing the same week as other RPG heavy-hitters like Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered, The Hundred Line enjoys its positive reception from fans, having "Very Positive" reviews on Steam. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 remains the highest-rated game of 2025, selling over 1 million copies in 3 days.
